I hired Tricia from Dabney Designs to help me select blinds and shutters for my current home and the one previous. She has an excellent eye for color and style and gave me some great options which I am very happy with. The price Dabney Designs offered was lower than bids I received from three other vendors and the quality of the product and installation was excellent. That is why I chose them again for my second home. I have recommended them to all of my neighbors and friends.
With Kind Regards
Dabney Designs and Tricia were amazing! We wanted the picturesque beach house when we purchased our house on Mustang Island, TX. I had very distinct ideas of what I wanted but Tricia's amazing reputation encouraged me to let her surprise me on lots of stuff. She created the most amazing oasis all while staying within our budget. She has access to such great lines and an amazing eye to put things together to make a space comfortable for everyone. She listened to every bit of inspiration we told her and paid attention to every detail. I was really worried the house wouldn't be very original because she would be buying so many things at one time, but every ounce of what she did is so special and original to our family. We absolutely love working with Tricia and found this experience to be carefree and relaxing. I look forward to working with her again on my next project!"
It takes a unique combination of skills and talent to be a great interior decorator, and Tricia has them all. She works closely with her clients, architects and contractors to provide ideas and elements that are functional, beautiful and on budget. And she's clever. She has an artist's eye, a Midwesterner's practicality, a casual-yet-elegant style all her own, and she's not afraid to hit the antique auctions to find you that special piece that pulls everything together. You will not get cookie-cutter designs and decorations with Tricia. You will get heartfelt inspiration, careful attention to detail, and a style that matches your own personality. And you will have fun doing it! I cannot recommend her enough.
When we bought our beautiful island home there was only one designer we wanted to take on our interior design project and that was Tricia Dabney. Her design reputation exceeds her! Tricia not only has a keen eye for design, she is cost conscience without sacrificing quality! We gave Tricia design liberties with our home--wanting her to “just surprise us” and she didn’t disappoint! Decorating our home in keeping with the relaxing, serenity of the island, Tricia filled our home with unique coastal accents and casual but elegant furnishings. She decorated our teenage daughter’s room with a beach-y, fun, funky theme which our daughter just loves to show off to her friends! Upon entering our home, it has that “Wow” factor that we were looking for in a designer. We couldn’t be more pleased!
We have used Tricia Dabney on two different projects....one a beach house in Cinnamon Shore on Mustang Island and, most recently, an updating project for a family member's home in Plano, Texas (Dallas Remodel). Tricia really listened to our ideas and created beautiful homes far exceeding our expectations! She's creative and fun to work with, and brought both projects in below budget. At our beach house, she not only furnished it but provided linens, towels, soap dispensers, waste baskets.....essentially everything we needed to just move in and start enjoying. Her designs are warm and inviting yet casually elegant at the same time. We loved working with her and would not hesitate to use her services again. We highly recommend her to anyone wishing to redecorate or decorate for the first time.
When we built our new Central Texas home Tricia Dabney came highly recommended as someone we could rely on for both her design skills and her professionalism. We are so glad that we took that recommendation.
Tricia guided us in the selection of materials and custom designs for interior louvered window shutters, roman shades, curtains, and window hardware. We are thrilled with how her projects all turned out. Moreover, Tricia was a pleasureto work with. She listened closely to our description of what we wanted and then helped us to achieve our goals. She made excellent suggestions that were consistent with our desires, rather than trying to impose her own sense of style on our home. And she stands behind her work, 100 percent.
One lovely outgrowth of our professional relationship with Tricia is that we now regard her as a friend. Every aspect of having Tricia working with us on our home has been positive. We recommend her with absolute confidence to anyone looking for creative design assistance.
My name is Rob Grant and my family recently purchased a Beach Property in Port Aransas. The house was brand new and in need of all the furnishings. Because we are using this place as an upscale rental property we wanted to be sure and decorate it accordingly. After several conversations with other Interior Designers we decided to go with Dabney Designs. Tricia's ideas met our request and her willingness to show us what she was making profit wise on every item made us confident we would get the best Bang for our Buck. Most designers gave us a flat quote with no indication of the value of any of the items to be purchased. For all we knew everything would have been purchased from IKEA. Nothing against IKEA, but that was not the look or quality we wanted. This was not so with Tricia. We knew upfront what her rate was and how much she would make off of every item. All the furniture is great quality and looks terrific. The above reasons alone would have made us happy customers, but you could really tell Tricia likes what she does. She paid extreme detail to every item. From the Hiding of the cable boxes out of site to the silverware and art work. She even put a receipt book together for us showing us every receipt and telling us which room the item was in. For rental property owners this was nice and convenient. We totally turned everything over to Tricia and she met the challenge with flying colors. I would have no problem recommending Dabney Designs to any of my friends or family members. Sincerely, Robert
Have no doubt that Tricia will please you in every regard!
We contacted Tricia with little advanced notice while she was busy but she immediately got started on our project to design and furnish our beach townhome "Island Time" at Cinnamon Shore. She took a detailed review of our tastes, preferences, and ideas. The final product showed that she paid great attention to our wants and needs. But really, we let her go to town on our project because we felt no need to micromanage things - we knew we were in good hands. Tricia communicates quickly, and all business was very professional. But most importantly, she has impeccable taste (a must for an interior designer, right?)! She did 99 percent of the work without the need for our input and the result was perfect. Not only did the design fit what we were looking for, but Tricia has expertise in properties that will be rented also and incorporated that knowledge into the furnishings. Her job was completely turn-key. But that is not the end of the relationship. Tricia remains in close contact after the job is done to tweak things and make additions or to meet needs.
So in the end, we felt as if we were on a HGTV home makeover show when the design was revealed to us and we were so amazed at the results. The home has been revered by all who see it, and it even has been showcased by Realtors who show the townhome to prospective buyers of other properties. We couldn't be happier with the design, and we are among many who highly recommend Tricia. Thank you Tricia!
Last year we purchased our beach house in Port Aransas. We were excited and eager to decorate the home right away! With two small children, I knew I'd need some assistance! After talking with several people in the neighborhood (and meeting Tricia), we quickly realized she would be a great fit for our family. Tricia made the decorating process fun and exciting! She helps you stay within your budget, without sacrificing the home's style. She also knew it was important for me to stay involved in the process. She would send me pictures of items to give me choices, which helped me feel like I was part of the design. We were very happy with the end result and even had her help with our home in San Antonio later in the year.
I'll never forget walking through the beach house with our family, and seeing the final product! I was blown away, everything looked so beautiful. She took care of every detail, all we had to do was bring a few items from home! Thankful for her help and hard work!
We used Tricia Dabney to help us decorate our new beach home. We "clicked" with her beachy chic style and use of casual and livable chippy paint furniture. I am a “shopperâ€, and she graciously accepted my need to participate and worked my treasures into our final design. She has a keen eye for very unique and personal items that worked well with the way we wanted our home to function. She incorporated new pieces of comfortable slipcovered furniture, had a family heirloom secretary custom painted, and framed a picture with antique barn wood. These personal touches are just some of the things that make our home so special. We LOVE our beach home and were very happy with Tricia's attention to detail and decorating talent.
The kids and I moved into our new home a year ago, so it was a blank canvas and I was totally excited about decorating. However, I quickly found out that I had very little time to give it the attention needed and deserved in order to be the wonderfully peaceful abode that I envisioned. So, we lived in a home full of beige walls (and ceilings), all one color and my bedroom resembled that of a bachelor's. However again, being a single working mom, I had very little time to put into decorating. Literally I prayed for God to help me find a decorator (isn't that a silly prayer)! Well not silly at all, because before I knew it, the kids and I were staying at the cutest and most inspiring condo at Port A. I fell in love with the Shabby Chic, Texas and "Beachy" vibe the place oozed. I thought to myself, now this is the type of decor we need at home (had no clue that the condo owner was the "decorator"). So I sat down one morning to have a cup of coffee, picked up the guest book and realized that the condo was owned by the "decorator". I thought to myself - God, man you are good!
So I called Tricia, asked if she was taking new clients (was ready to beg, if I needed to) and thankfully she said "yes". She asked me about my budget, came by the house and she got a feel of what I wanted to do. I remembered her saying, "she does her best work, when she is turned loose". So I knew this was a good partnership, because I certainly did not have the time to pick out things for the house. Plus, there was something about Tricia that I trusted. I knew that she would take this job as serious as any others. We picked a date to have the job finished, which I thought "right, no way we can get everything done by then" (it was ~ 3 weeks out). So the painters were in and out within 4 days, whole home's interior completely repainted. She told me to leave the key under the mat on Monday morning, as I go off to work. This was "the day"!
When the kids and I got home that evening, it was like OMGosh! We walked into our home so slowly and in complete AWE! My son (3 years old) stood outside of the door and just looked in. It was completely different, a totally different home that we left that morning (just 8 hours prior). Everything was perfect, from the entry way decor, to my daughter's "big girl" room, the kitchen nook (OMGosh so shabby chic cute) to my heavenly, amazingly sweet bedroom. I cried, literally I cried (and I am not a crier)! The presentation of everything, every room, was like it took days (maybe months) to put together. No way, one day (shopping not included in this day of course)! It was like a decorating pixie graced our home and made it so much more lovely. Somewhere on her website, she talks about a home should be a "soft place to land" at the end of each day. And Man, she nailed it here! I walk into our home each day after work and school, leave my worldly cares outside on the doorstep and walk into our "soft place to land, home". Thank you Tricia! You are amazing.
We hired Tricia to decorate a home we built and planned to rent in Cinnamon Shore, a beach community in Port Aransas, TX. We met Tricia through a friend who bought a condo in the same development and was planning to hire her. My friend ran into Tricia at the rental office and quickly realized that she had spoken with Tricia several years earlier when we had tried to rent her home in Cinnamon Shore for a girl's weekend. We had scoured all the pictures on the website and fell in love with all the great decor and detail in Tricia's house. When I was told she was decorating, I knew I wanted to hire her. After speaking with her I was excited to hear that she takes on the project from start to finish. With small children and living a few hours away from the project this was a huge burden lifted from my shoulders.
Tricia does not take any short cuts and takes the time to find unique, one-of-a-kind items. She did all the leg work and all I had to do was stay tuned to my texts to give the "yay" or "nay" to all the wonderful things she found. I was spoiled. Hands down, my favorite way to shop! There are so many treasures in my home that I would never have found without her, at least not without a lot of stress and spending a lot more money. With all her experience and hard work, she knows which vendors to use and where to go for all the good stuff. She makes the overwhelming manageable and as an added benefit you can rest assured it will be quality. The icing on the cake was that she offers the service of moving everything in after all the purchases are made. Having that option was also something that made the whole experience so much fun. It was so incredible to walk into the house and see everything in place down to every pillow, knick knack and picture frame. I can actually look back at the building/decorating process and say I miss it!
Tricia Dabney designed our condominium at Cinnamon Shore in Port Aransas, Texas. She has an exceptional gift of efficiency, creativity, and organizational skills. She is a delight to work with! She listened to what we wanted and designed our condo accordingly. All items were purchased in a timely manner and with consideration of our budget. She and her staff worked tirelessly to make our condo "move in ready" and we were thrilled with the result!
I was so pleased with Tricia's expertise that I asked for her help to re-do our master bedroom and guest bedroom at our home in Austin, Texas. She again surpassed my expectations with a wonderful transformation.
I highly recommend Tricia Dabney!
We purchased a sweet rock cottage in Wimberley that needed a LOT of love. We quickly realized that we were in over our heads and turned to Houzz to find someone to help us accomplish our vision for the cottage. Bringing Tricia on was the best decision we made. We were a little hesitant about working with a designer for the first time. Would they stick to our budget? Would they take over the project and make it their style not ours? Would the end result feel like a furniture showroom or too staged? Our fears were quickly put to rest. On the first walk through Tricia helped us decide where to spend our money and where we could save money. She helped us find a great contractor and worked closely with him throughout the project. The entire process was very collaborative. Tricia is easy to work with and a good listener. She is not afraid to give her opinion and she always kept our budget in mind. Tricia mixes quality new pieces she finds at Round Top and Canton that give the space such a unique feel. Definitely not a showroom! Tricia helped us achieve our vision only better than we imagined and we couldn't be happier. We are just starting to build a farmhouse we have dreamed of for years and are delighted to be working with Tricia again. We can't wait to see how it turns out!
Tricia Dabney of Designs by Dabney was gracious to work with me on a total remodel of my home in the Texas hill country. Tricia has exquisite taste, a fun sense of humor, resources and contacts beyond compare, an innate ability to define a particular style, all the while, remaining energetic and enthusiastic. She pays attention to every detail. She listens to the client. Through the process of remodeling, I learned from Tricia as she guided me through the steps. As a result, I have a home I love and I am grateful for her friendship. I know anyone who has the opportunity to work closely with Tricia, will be excited and happy with the finished project.
